To renew a British passport is very easy.

You don't need your child's dad

1. Pick a form from the post office.
2. Filling the relevant required section
3. Get a professional to counter sign the child picture and the forms
4. Add a cheque or card details to the forms
5. Post it

When you pick a form and you come back to the forum, we will show you the sections to fill

For the parents details she has to put her name on mother details and as for the father's details, if she knows the full name of the father she can put it but if not then she can leave it blank. I am saying this because I have also renewed my son's passport without the father.

For the parents details she has to put her name on mother details and as for the father's details, if she knows the full name of the father she can put it but if not then she can leave it blank. I am saying this because I have also renewed my son's passport without the father.

Thank you for bringing up this topic. I will be renewing my daughter British passport next year and it's good to know I don't need to contact her dad to have it done. In my own case the dad is British and doesn't see her at all, she got her British citizenship through her dad.

@lulubaby, my son is 5years 3months old, I didn't have leave to remain before I gave birth to my child and I applied since jully and my leave to remain is due to be expire in march 2012

Thanks Snooky. Yes I was given administrative review. I applied in May 2019, did my biometrics in June and got COA in July.
It's really annoying, waiting for soo long.

You are very right. I renewed my childs british passport myself last year without the dad. Though I have the dad's British passport details which i filled out. But I signed as the mother and got a nurse friend who is british to countersign. I got it delivered after less than 2 weeks.
Sebel, trust me, you dont need any lawyer except maybe to counter sign the form. Good luck

You can involve your solicitor but that wouldn't make a difference with H/O decision. The only difference is you pay your solicitor money.
