Remote working outside UK/Working from home under Tier 2

Hi everyone,

Due to corona virus outbreak, my employer in the UK asked all staff to work from home for several weeks.

I am currently outside the UK and I was wondering if I can work from home/outside the UK with Tier 2 visa, but they told me that due to tax regulations, I cannot be assigned to any UK work if I am not physically in the UK.

I am still not sure if they are saying this to me due to complications or if it is not possible at all.

If you/anyone had a similar experience, can you share this under this thread?

I have worked less than a week out of UK and was fine.
In my opinion, complications could arise if you work for a prolonged time and your payroll needs to be shifted to your home country
