How employer pay maintenance fund to me

Post by Jac » Mon Apr 13, 2020 1:45 pm

Employeer has been certified maintenance in CoS of T2 general,
should they pay maintenance fund to me via first month salary or it should be paid separately?
Is maintenance fund paid to me taxable?

Thanks.

I could be wrong but employers don't have to pay you anything for maintenance. HO requires you to show funds in your own bank accounts for three months or your employer to certify that they will provide you funds in case you need them, to satisfy visa conditions. Technically speaking, HO is worried about how a newcomer will be able to afford to live in the UK before they receive their first salary. Unless you have a special arrangement with your employer, they don't have to pay you anything for maintenance. When I moved to the UK 20 months ago, my employer who is A-rated, certified my maintenance so I didn't have to attach my bank statements but they don't have to pay you anything unless it's a company-wide policy to pay people on Tier-2 visas when they start working.
