IHS refund between Categories

Hi guys,
Just a quick one - I've had a leave approved on tier 4 extension in late December for 1.5yrs for which I paid £450 towards IHS. I've now successfully switched to Tier 2 in under a months time on a 3yrs route. I paid £1200 towards IHS. Will I get a refund from my previous leave? Will it be automatically or do I need to request for a refund?

Got the answer from HO in the form of an automatic refund after 3 days of leave approval email. But annoyingly enough they knocked £150 from the original £450, even though it was only 28 days from the date when the first IHS payment was made. Anyway somethings better than nothing!

Do we need to apply for refund or its automatically refunded?
