I am applying for my ILR in July - I'm very concerned about the appts cancellations and was wondering if someone can let me know if the postponed biometrics appointments take place or if they're postponed again
Same but meant to apply in June.

The centres are ALL currently closed. Members have reported postponed appointments being postponed again. There will likely be a bit of a backlog once the centres do reopen.
Thanks CR001, I understand they're closed - I'm just curious about those who have had their appointments postponed to later in May&June to find out if their appointments moved again. This is just to understand my chances etc

Hello, my appointment was postponed from 30 March to 11 May. So far as per my account details the appointment hasn't been postponed any further. Hopefully we will get some good news that UKVCAS are taking measures to allow social distancing and still receive appointments.

Same thing here my appointment is on 20/5. Still has not been delayed.
I do agree that UKVCAS should really start implementing strict social distancing rules to allow appointments to go ahead, rather than just wait for the lick down to be lifted which can potentially take month!
Banks are still open and they do adhere to good social distancing. I'm sure the same can be done in visa centres surely...

Hi everyone,
When appointments become available to book can you advise if priority becomes available? I’m looking to understand how big the backlog will be come June! I have travel arrangements (currently not cancelled) for late July for a wedding I am involved in so really need the priority appointment when they become available otherwise I may have to make the decision to extend my ancestry visa rather than go for ILR as the process Times I believe are quicker

Standard service is the same timeframe, regardless of what application you are making.
If you submit and pay for your online application, you can't go back to change to priority.
There will obvioulsy be a huge backlog and those who had appointments cancelled will be given priority.

Gov website says ancestry visa general decision time is 8 weeks for standard - obviously will be more given backlog. I won’t be submitting until the last minute to try and get a priority appt if by any possible reason they become available. So sad for everyone that has prepared for their applications in the best way possible and everything is now delayed and causing a lot of stress to people

If you are NOT applying for ancestry visa extension (and you will be applying for ILR) bear in mind that the ILR has a standard timeframe of 6 months under all the routes

Understood, thanks. Will be making my choice between the two closer to the time basing that decision off appointment types available

My appointment initially on March 30th and got postponed to 11th May is now postponed further to 18th May. I hope this new date will hold given that it was pushed for one week only, maybe UKVCAS are taking measures to reopen their centres soon.

I hope your appointment will go ahead as you planned. Can I ask please, are you applying under super priority services or standard service on 18th May?

Super priority - premium lounge. I just thought that it will be easier for UKVCAS to ensure distancing measures in the premium lounge.

Hi all, just to clarify - at the moment there is no option to select those priority options. But should we still be applying and paying anyway, even if we intend to utilise them?
My thoughts were just that there would be no point applying for something if we want to use priority.

Priority service is chosen before you submit your application or book an appointment. If you do not get such option, then your application will be a standard service and you will NOT be charged for priority service. There is NO upgrade option later. You either must pay for priority service
before you submit or else it will be standard. The idea that '
I intend to use/upgrade to priority' after submitting a standard application is meaningless

My initial appointment for 30.03.2020 postponed to 11.05.2020 and now again postponed to 18.05.2020; this is really getting irritating and frustrating now!

Hello!
LTR set to expire 4 May but was planning on getting super priority service which is obviously not available and I could not apply in time. Apply for ILR now, will my current visa extend until 31 May? Or do I have to apply before 4 May and choose standard processing? Any idea if they will let us then elect super premium once the Centres re open?
Set to travel in Sept at this point.
Agree this seems like as essential service and could be done using social distancing measures.
Thanks for your time!

You must apply online BEFORE your visa expires. You will only have the standard service option at present. Later on there is no upgrade process anymore. You only have the option available to you when you choose and pay your application online.

Yes, perhaps I should have been more clear. I would like thoughts on if those of us that are forced to choose the standard 6 month processing time will be able to utilize priority/ super priority after the Centres reopen.
It seems grossly unfair for us to all have to wait when normally we would have gotten a decision in 24 hours and this is completely out of our hands.
