Inviting parents to live in UK

Post by safeery2k » Mon Apr 20, 2020 12:46 pm

Hi, I'm looking to invite my parents to live with me permanently in UK. They are in Pakistan and over 65 years and living alone. I've been looking at home office site and found below rules which I think could be an option but I can't relate this to any visa type available on https://www.gov.uk/browse/visas-immigra ... mily-visas.

Could someone please guide me what is the visa type related to Part 8 rules?

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/immigration ... 8relatives

Thanks

It is the most diffcult visa to get with a very high refusal rate. If you choose to take the risk and it is refused, it shuts the door to any future visit visas for them too.

As they live in Pakistan, where almost all Adult Dependent Relative visas are refused, the cost to look after them there and sending them money, is substantially cheaper than the UK. Simply 'wanting' them to live with you is a very weak reason.

Below is what you would have to prove.

do you think this might change in the future? surely, to keep some highly skilled workers in the uk, government might consider tweaking the rules in order to allow them to bring their parent(s) who is left alone in their country
thanks

just to add, rules for this were much more relaxed until 2012 just like 2 year post study work visa (that have been reintroduced this year)
