naturalisation as a British Citizen

Post by tipurekha » Sun May 10, 2020 1:38 pm

Dear valued members
I have applied for British citizenship via 10 yrs ILR : 06 February 2020
Biometric enrolled : 09 March 2020
Haven`t heard anything from HO. Should I email them for any updates or wait sometimes as COVID 19 slowing their process. They did not contact none of the referee as well.
Please make comments if you are experiencing similar situation or have any idea.
Thank you very much.

You need to wait to hear back from ho. You don't get informed every step of the way and applications can take up to 6 months, sometimes longer.

There are currently delays. You applied only recently!

Referees are rarely contacted

I am very grateful 🙏 to moderators and helpful members for their highly appreciated contribution in this platform. I am very pleased to say that I have received my British citizenship invitation 01/08/2020.
But that letter issue date 24th of March 2020, and letter mentions I have to call for arrange ceremony within 21 days from the letter date which has passed.
Please help me with your kind recommendation. Thank you very much.

Ignore that. Due to corona, you will not be penalised. Just contact your council to arrange ceremony and follow instructions on the letter received.
Personal opinion only, not to be mistaken for legal advice. Please DO NOT PM me for immigration advice. Love for All, Hatred for None.
