Post by White_Pearl » Thu May 21, 2020 2:46 pm

Hi All

Can a non eu spouse, apply for EEA permit for a short holiday to the UK.
Eu Citizen will be travelling with non eu spouse or joining in UK on the same date.

Is yes, what documents will they need apart from marriage certificate, hotelbookings, traveltickets and eu citizen bankstatement, showing their eu citizen will sponsor the whole trip.

Hello

You need a visitor visa for that. You can't engage into an immigration path just for a short visit. It doesn't worth the hassle.

Can a visitor visa be applied, based on spouse of eu national? The financially sponsor is the eu national for this trip.

Hi

I just checked online on https://www.gov.uk/check-uk-visa, after entering the country coming from, the question is what are you coming to do do in UK? i clicked on Tourism, and then the next question: Will you be travelling with or visiting either your partner or a family member in the UK? i clicked on YES then the next question: Do you have an Article 10 or 20 card? i clicked on NO then the outcome is:

Check if you need a UK visa
You’ll need a visa to come to the UK
The visa you need depends on your partner or family member’s situation.

They’re a British citizen
In most cases, you should apply for a Standard Visitor visa.

You should apply for a ‘Surinder Singh’ EEA family permit instead if you’ve been living with them in an EEA country other than the UK and they’ve been working, self-employed, self-sufficient or studying there.

They’re from elsewhere in the EEA
Apply for a family permit.

They’re from outside the EEA
Apply for a Standard Visitor visa.

Do you still feel that the correct category will be standard visitor visa instead of EEA Permit?

looking forward to hear from you
