Switching Tier 2 General Visa from Isle of Man to Mainland UK

Post by jyosoni » Mon May 25, 2020 3:51 pm

Hi All,

I am on T2 general Visa, COE of Employer, as sponsor is not required for IOM visa which is expiring in October 2022. However, I have been recently laid-off due to Covid-19 situation and my last date is on 31st May. Post that I will have 60 days to stay on Island to find another job/or leave to my home country. I have the following questions:

1. Is the T2 General visa for IOM different from Mainland UK visa?
2. If I happen to leave before or after 60 days, does cooling-off period still applies, if I am applying for a job whether in IOM or Mainland?
3. Any recent amendments in cooling-off period for T2 General visa holders?
4. I am in process of job interviews, however not sure if they will be able to offer me before 60 days period end, so what can I do better in this situation?

I called IOM immigration and they said me the cooling-off period does't apply to them, not sure how far this is correct?

Appreciate all the help!

Thanks

Jyoti
