That is simply not true. Like Ireland, Canada requires applicants to attend a citizenship ceremony. The Canada immigration department website clearly says "We cancelled all citizenship events until further notice... My friend said that his mother lives in Canada and her citizenship was sent to her address back in March due to COVID-19 and see..... they are still not sure what they are going to do here. How silly....

It is true that a lot of people are frustrated, but it is simply impossible for officials to try to change the legislation because they have to wait for a few extra months. I would rather hope that they resolve more pressing issues such as IRP renewals. These have far larger impact than citizenship applications and it is possible to resolve these issues within the current legislation.
