Tier 2 General - Sub Category

Post by Vishuddha » Fri Jun 12, 2020 11:06 am

Hi,

I am from a India and working on a PBS dependant leave to remain visa (my spouse is on Tier 2 ICT visa) which expires on November 2020. My employer has agreed to sponsor Tier 2 General visa for me (I will be working for the same role i.e. Business Analyst and same company with an annual salary of £38000)

I have been asked to give the sub category for Tier 2 general where I will be classed. Below are the options:

1. General (Switching Immigration Category)
2. General (Extensions - ISC liable)
3. General (Extensions - ISC exempt)
4. General (Changes of Employment - ISC liable)
5. General (Changes of Employment - ISC exempt)
6. General (Tier 4 Graduate switching to Tier 2)
7. General (New Hires - high earners - ISC liable)
8. General (New hires - high earners - ISC exempt)
9. General (High value/inward investment - ISC liable)
10. General (High value/inward investment- ISC exempt)
11. General (New hires - Doctors and Nurses - ISC liable)
12. General (New hires - Doctors/Nurses/PhD level jobs - ISC exempt)

Can someone please confirm which applies to my case or is there any guidance document anywhere which gives more information about these sub categories?

Thanks

Are these your company's internal Immigration codes ? In your situation you are not switching and will need to apply for entry clearance from your home country. You will need to apply for a Tier 2 General.

Sorry , These are all the sub categories for Tier 2 General.

Category is Tier 2 General and sub category is what I have listed above. They are mentioned in the Home office system.

Hi ,

If it’s a new hire, I am not a high earner nor am I a doctor/nurse/phd then what should I select? It does not fit with any of the sub categories.

It is new hires for a new application from your home country. There is no other category that is appropriate. Why are you not asking your sponsor for this advice.

I hope you are not looking at the visa system for Switching. Your case is not a switch
