Global Talent Visa Rejected

Post by JasK » Sat Jun 13, 2020 6:19 pm

Currently I am on ICT Visa in UK and applied for Global Talent Visa in May'20 and here is the feedback received today
"The applicant is a competent IT Project Lead/Project Manager working for the past 15 years for XYZ Technologies (described on its Wikipedia page as an "Indian IT service and consulting company"). The applicant has provided many warm letters of support from clients of XYZ Technologies and colleagues and ex colleagues of XYZ Technologies. A number of the reference letters contain many similarities in content. This may suggest that the applicant has, as part of her outsourcing team, been delivering projects of a similar nature many times over for various clients and this would suggest a low level of innovation and technical expertise. The applicant has provided mentoring internally at XYZ Technologies and also to several cohorts of MBA students at Technological University since 2017 but it is very much general business skills and career advice and is not in depth tech material and as such cannot be said to be contributing to the advancement of the sector. There is a letter of support from D at DFG Technologies, a startup accelerator in India. D has been mentoring the applicant since she attended a one-day course at the accelerator in 2016 and she is in the process of developing a business plan for a UK based startup, but this idea is still very much in the planning and pre-launch stage. The applicant has undertaken many training courses over the past few years and meets Qualifying Criteria 3 in terms of continuous learning and mastery or new digital skills. We cannot endorse this visa application at this time."

Please suggest if I should submit the decision review application?
What should I take care if I am submitting decision review application?
Do I have more options to look for?
Any other option to move out of ICT Visa?
Appreciate your sincere help
Thank you

Hello

It seems your application fell short. I am not a great believer of launching reviews just for the hope that they will look again and just like that change their decision. It's often more productive to understand their rational and try to improve the outcome.
but this idea is still very much in the planning and pre-launch stage.
This could be an actionable point. You can further the development of your company to show them something more impressive.
been delivering projects of a similar nature many times over for various clients and this would suggest a low level of innovation and technical expertise
Try to get involved in more projects in order to be able to show more diverse credentials.

Now it you need this endorsement next week, you don't have enough time to change these points. But if you are in position to apply next year, you can work toward meeting their criteria.

Thanks for the reply.
I showed this response to one of the companies in UK who help people to get their endorsement files ready for Global Talent Visa.

They said, with Tech Nation reasoning of rejection it seem "Tech Nation agreed that you are a competent IT Project Lead/Project Manager and approved you on Training but unfortunately have declined you on your work being outsourcing and on mentoring."

Do you think Outsourcing company matters here?
If I reapply again next time, I will still be tagged with an outsourcing company as they are my employer from last 15 years now.

If you read the refusal, they don't see seem to refuse you because you do outsourcing. They refused because of 2 things:

1 - Your business idea wasn't developed enough. You probably need a stronger Business Plan.

2 - Your projects were essentially the same. This limits your exposure to various types of technologies. You need to broaden your exposure. But I agree that this might be beyond your control. But try to talk to your employer / management. In large companies as the one you are working with at the moment, there are plenty of things happening. Try to reach out to other teams, see what they are doing and how they can involve you in their work. Most teams are happy to get help.

In my company, I look around and when I see a team doing something exciting, I asked their manager or director to involve me. They are usually happy to oblige. I get added to their distribution list, chat rooms, I receive invitations for meetings... etc and this is a good way to get exposed to various fields of technology.

Correct, you are not permitted to post any form of contact information on the forum. Everyone in the forum is a complete stranger and we have many scammers and spammers trawling the posts daily.

Post in public so that all can benefit and any dubious or dodgy advice can be removed and corrected.

At this stage, take guidance but don't let any consultancy, agency submit application on your behalf. A lot of frauds happening for this Visa. Consultancies are charging 7000 GBP+VAT. Avoid getting involved with them.

Thanks JasK. Yes, I also saw one ad, they were charging 10K. I am on ICT, do you think there is chance for me?

Its all paper game. If you can prove as per your documentation and its signed by C level or Director etc. Chances are way high.
Wish you good luck!

10K? That is just extortion. I spent exactly £0.

You'll have to write up a strong personal statement, and substantiate with evidence backing your claims. As long as you address each of the facets/traits expected in an applicant, you should be able to do this.

Also, the endorsement review does not generally help. It is not an appeal, but rather merely an administrative review, which clearly states that all that they will do is to independently investigate whether your application was handled in a neutral way, and that all the proper procedures have been followed.

They will not review any new evidence/documents you submit. Please read the wording in the guidance on admin reviews carefully. Also, admin review is not a repeat assessment/peer-review of your application in detail, but rather just an examination if their internal procedures were followed.

A better thing would be to take the feedback from the endorsing body, address the weaker aspects and put together a compelling application.

My recent application has been rejected. I tried the review process, that came back as a no too. I'm a bit confused as we applied for the KC2 (Tech Nation) and not KC1. Is it difficult to demonstrate KC1? And can anyone help me with documents and templates to improve my second attempt, please.
