ive been told that the AIT have received the appeal docs from the BHC. the ECO has 19 weeks to reply back to the AIT and give reasons for still refusing the visa.. . based on their track record i reckon my hubby may be here this time next year . . .

Hi all,

Just a quick query - Anyone know what the confirmed story is regarding the '28 days get out' limit ???

Basically Im getting conflicting stories from different people. Firstly I heard that you have 28 days from the time the visa is issued to enter the country of your destination. Now Ive heard that the rules have changed and that you get about 3 months & that your issued with a 27month visa stamp of which the first 3 months are so that you can get to your country of destination.

Can anyone please advise?? Thanks in advance!!
p.s. still no news from VAC or BHC .... still waiting.

It says on your letter that you receive from BHC, so if anything changes the letter will let you know if its 28days or 3 months.

My hubby had his visa issued in apil 08 and he had 28days in which he had to enter the UK. You can get an extension if need be but it does cost, cant remeber how much.

Salaam everyone. Wow, so much can happen over 24 hrs. Yesterday at around 3 o'clock i checked the status of hubbys application and no change. Then last night i checked again, and the status had changed to Passport ready for collection. Hubby went down the VAC today in Islamabad, and finally he got the visa. Yipee........ Dont know much else apart from the visa being given which is the main thing. After all this wait, patience has been paid off.

It's all about patience and it runs out at times.

I was away from hubby for 8 months and even though we spoke every day for like 2-3 hours, it just wasnt the same.

However my faith in Allah (swt) that we would be together one day kept me going. The waiting game is the worse thing but share your feelings with your patner makes it ease off the tension a bit.

Congrats to Shameem, good news. Hope the rest too get good news, good luck to you all.

Thats so true Muzzi. He struggling to get a flight after only having 2 wks left to get to the UK. My hubbys visa was stamped 8th August, 11 days AGO. Thats why he is pushed for time. The VAC werent good at letting him know that his passport was ready. It was only that i checked on the Web that we knew.

Hi Shameem

Congrats once again :D Find out from your husband on the 'duration' of the visa he has been issued. Basically coz I have heard that the rules have changed and that they issue you with a 27 month visa, allowing you 3 months to get out of Pakistan and to your destination country. And that the 28 day rule doesnt apply any more.

If this is the case, it may help your search for tickets and take the pressure off a little.

Please do let us know what happens as it will help us all when our partners receive their visas - Thx.

Asalamualaikum everybody

i have been reading this forum for the last 2 months. i applied on 20th of june . i have emailed british high commission several times. Every time they tell me that my application is still in the queue waiting to be assessed. Last time they replied on 15th telling me the same thing and nothing else. It has been 62 days and they have not been kind enough to open my application. I have no words to tell what a person goes through on getting such replies from BHC. Me and my husband are waiting and waiting and waiting but no positive response has yet come from them.

Congratulations to all on getting their visa. May ALLAH bless us all with good news. Aamin

I used to think the exact same thing and get so worked up at the mere thought of my Husbands Visa being refused. But being patient and remembering that no news is good news did help to take the edge off a bit.

Think positive and make Du'a.

Good luck!!
