REPLACEMENT 30 DAY VISA Confusion

Post by cyberstud23 » Mon Jun 29, 2020 11:32 pm

The link provided
(1) Form to be filled and submitted to show to the border officer. It says (One cannot submit the form until 48 hours before you’re due to arrive in the UK)
https://www.gov.uk/provide-journey-cont ... -travel-uk

Q. Should the applicant fill and submit the form
(a) 1-47 hours before travel OR (b) No later than 48 hours of travel

(2) Contact CIH@homeoffice.gov.uk
If your 30 day visa to travel to the UK for work, study or to join family has expired, or is about to expire, you can request a replacement visa with revised validity dates free of charge until the end of this year.
To make a request, contact the Coronavirus Immigration Help Centre. You’ll need to include your name, nationality, date of birth and your GWF reference number with ‘REPLACEMENT 30 DAY VISA’ in the subject line. If you’ve already contacted us about this, please let us know in your email.
You’ll be contacted when our VACs reopen to arrange for a replacement visa to be endorsed in your passport. Your replacement visa will be valid for 90 days.

You will not be penalised for being unable collect your BRP while coronavirus measures are in place.
This process will be in place until the end of 2020

Q Is the CIH@homeoffice.gov.uk process different than the To transfer or replace your visa (vignette) for travellers coming to the UK on UK Spouse Visa, Study or Work Visa.
If different than which form to be filled for CIH ? Just send an email to CIH@homeoffice.gov.uk following above point (2) ?

My Wife got her UK Spouse Visa and her intial biometrics were done in the India but due to Covid-19 lockdown / travel restrictions her Vignette Expiredand she did not travel to the UK. Her BRP must be in the post office.

Q If she applies making use of To transer or replace your visas (vignette) will that be a 30 day extenstion and not a 90 day vignette sticker ?

Q The documents to show section has Mandatory and Other evidence.

Mandatory

You must provide this evidence as part of your application. Tick the box to confirm that you understand this evidence is mandatory and that you must provide it to support your application:
(Required)
The passport or travel document for [Name ] from [Non EU]

Other evidence
You can also provide other evidence to support your application. This evidence is not mandatory but may support your application if you are able to provide it.

Q. Do I have to upload evidences previously uploaded again + new statements (living, salary, marriage proof, bank statements, place of stay ..). I dont see it mentioned in the Other evidence category but some people say to have them included. (Collecting business and permanent job documents , bank statements will be time consuming.

Q. Will a change to a new address cause more documents to be sent in the Replacement 30 day visa or Trasfer or replace your visa (vignette)

Thanks in Advance.

Today we went to the Hyderabad UK visa centre (VFS Global) for getting an extension for the expired vignette for our new born baby. One month vignette expired as we could not travel due to ban on international flights from India. We live in UK and have BRPs, this Is a new application forour child

Hope this helps others:
- No need to resubmit biometrics (so need not bring infant to the centre, as the photograph and biometrics were already taken)

- New visa application need not be applied ( even if the travel dates mentioned in original application would have been crossed/ passed)

- Evidence that the applicant/ responsible person reached out to the corona helpline (CIH@homeoffice.co.uk) and any correspondence from them (even if its just an auto reply) must be submitted

- If applicant/ responsible individual created a new application (on Gov.UK) / paid for any premium services for visa centre (vfs global), refunds can be applied

- passport, BRP letter if received (we did not get any letter actually) and original GWF reference and copy of expired visa vignette need to be submitted at the Visa centres and this will be processed in or less than 14 days and passport with new vignette will be sent back.

Am not sure if an agent can represent the Application so that applicant also need not travel, but we ended up travelling and submitting the passport as we were not sure about it.

Cheers, good luck!!

Has anyone received a Replacement 30 Day Visa/Vignette from TLS ?
Written to cih@ helpline, automated reply, no real info. Called Helpline, ditto, no help at all.

If we bring the passport to TLS personally, will the replacement 30 Day Visa be issued immediately? If not, how long?

Thanks.

Have you fully read the poster's experience immediately before/above your post where the process is explained??

TLS does not issue the visas anyway, they are only a third party agent.

Thanks for reply CR001.

My question was not about VFS, it was about TLS. They are different, with different processes and attitudes to customer service it seems.
On VFS website they give helpful information, TLS give no information. Also I've written to TLS directly, and they give no information. Hence my question here.

I understand TLS does not issue visa themselves. My question still stands: regarding TLS, will they issue replacement 30 day visa immediately, and if not, after how long?

Thanks.

The same process would be followed, the passport would go to the embassy for visa vignette and it will likely take a week or two.

Currently waited for 4 eeks for replacement Vignette through TLS. Be interested to know if anybody else has any experience of timescales for 90 day vignette being issued. Yet to hear of anybody who has recieved it.

I thought of applying for Vignette visa extension to my spouse as she got visa for 90 days in March and was going to expire as she is not willing to travel at this moment now. I came to know one friend's wife whose 30 day vignette visa expired has received by paying money immediately instead of free visa exchange mode. They applied as if vignette visa expired category. I think many are waiting who applied in normal extension. Hope this will be helpful to you.
