Applying Tier 2 dependent visa

Post by alex132 » Mon Jul 13, 2020 8:21 am

Let say I am having Tier 2 (general visa) from 01/2020 to 01/2023 (3 years visa),
I want to bring my wife and 1 kid to UK in Jan 2021 and I need apply Tier 2 dependent visa for them.

Do I need to pay the full 3 years visa (01/2020 to 01/2023) fees?
OR
Just for 2 years visa fees (01/2021 to 01/2023) ?

Thanks.

Hi,

So it will not take less than 3 years visa fees?
How about Healthcare Surcharge?

What the dependents pay is wholly dependent on your CoS length. There is no way around this.

The point also is you haven't applied for Tier 2 yet and your decision could take weeks. If they applied in January to join you, assuming you have your visa, it is an almost 3 year visa and IHS, so the full 3 years has to be paid.

I mean:

Let say: Tier 2 (general visa) from 01/2020 to 01/2023 (3 years visa),
I want to apply Tier 2 dependent visa on 01/2021. (So it will be 01/2021 to 01/2023) (2 years)

So, it will not full 3 years visa?

The fees and IHS are based on the length of your CoS, which if it is 3 years, they pay three years.

Note that the fee for 2 year or 3 year is the same, it is the 'up to 3 years' option but is completely based on the length of your CoS assigned to you by your sponsor.

Yes, IHS also. Note that IHS is increasing at the beginning of October from £400 per year to £625 per year for each personal applying.

so if I apply late, IHS also paid full?
If my Tier 4 visa now expired until 04/2021, and I apply Tier 2 visa 07/2020. Do I need to pay again IHS from 07/2020 to 04/2021 again?

Yes. You won't be able to progress with the form if you don't pay the IHS stated.
