Applying Tier 2 dependent visa - Child IHS

Post by specialty » Mon Jul 13, 2020 3:47 pm

Hi

I have applied for Tier-2 visa - my biometrics is tomorrow. While applying for my kid and trying to pay IHS for my kid it is asking for Visa Expiry Date. Since my visa is not yet granted what do I fill in for Visa Expiry Date ? Has anyone faced this issue ? Please help.

Thanks

Thank you.

I talked to number in the above link - not much help though. They said that I should be able to apply and asked to try a different browser :-). Also, they advised to contact an immigration adviser - tried contacting one - no response - https://www.gov.uk/find-an-immigration-adviser.

While I see no way out, my only worry is would it be considered as providing false information. And if the visa gets rejected will they refund IHS amount?

No it is not false information. It is a known glitch in the system.

One basic query - can my kids apply with me while my spouse will be applying later. Have consent from my spouse though.

No, their visa will be refused if the other parent is not applying. This is clearly stated in the immigration rules, both parents must be apply or have a valid UK visa.

Thanks so much again.

Will paying IHS and Visa fee be considered as applying ? Only reason my spouse is not able to apply now is due to unavailability of criminal record certificate (my spouse has applied for it though but it might be couple of days before we receive it).

Why does she need criminal record cert?

If she is not granted a visa or proceed with her visa application, the children's visas will be refused and you will lose the fees paid.

>> Why does she need criminal record cert?

As my spouse's occupation falls in the SOC...per info in this link (point 24 and 26),https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... 2-2020.pdf

>> If she is not granted a visa or proceed with her visa application, the children's visas will be refused and you will lose the fees paid.

Thanks so much again.

As my spouse's occupation falls in the SOC...
Is it your (main tier 2 applicant) soc that falls within the list?? A dependant doesn't need an SOC.

Yes.

>> A dependant doesn't need an SOC.

hmmm. In the link - point 24 states "adult partner..." - "24. The following applicants are required to provide a criminal record certificate:
...
• the adult partner (spouse, civil partner, unmarried or same-sex partner) of a PBS
migrant in the categories above, where that partner is applying for entry clearance as
a PBS dependant either with the main application or to join them subsequently. "

Also, in the documents required section of my spouse's application, it indicates that my spouse needs to provide a criminal records certificate. Based on this, my spouse/I came to the conclusion that the cert is needed and applied for it. Consequently, holding back completing my spouse's application (IHS/Visa fee payments) and taking bioometrics appointment.

You should apply for your children when your spouse is ready to apply.
