It doesn't mean anything. We are waiting since January 2018 and we stopped following up with them months ago because we kept getting the same generic responses. We are just hoping that they somehow find our application and look into it!
Some good news at least. Let's see when they actually decide to hold one for the wider population and start clearing the backlog!Captainf wrote: ↑Fri Jul 10, 2020 6:04 pmhttps://www.rte.ie/news/ireland/2020/07 ... -ceremony/
First Virtual Citizenship ceremony took place.
Seriously. 5121472 for Minister Completely agree with your comment that we are the customers. It is so frustrating to sit year after year.5121472 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 20, 2020 8:01 amI guess you are right. What else can we do if INIS only want to do it the difficult way, other than dragging them to the court. This is just so ridiculous and shameful for INIS to do such things and delay applications on purpose while the declared time is only 6 months and applicants are waiting from 2017 or even before. 2 to 3 long years of your life. Non-sense.
exactly. another month of July is going to be over and still no news regarding the virtual ceremony. very inefficient to be honest.niccim wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 8:51 pmSeriously. 5121472 for Minister Completely agree with your comment that we are the customers. We don’t know what the new minister will do, but based on previous experiences, applications will enter an ‘advanced’ stage 3-4 months before the next scheduled ceremony.GoWentGone123 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 29, 2020 1:13 pmAlso to let everyone know that these are my very first posts so please bear with me if i post something which has already been discussed. Happy to be redirected. Thanks
Yes exactlyGoWentGone123 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 29, 2020 5:48 pmThanks littlerr for your detailed response. Does that mean you get another letter after 2nd stage letter stating that the application is in advanced stage and then a fourth letter is approval letter and then invitation to ceremony?
Hi there,
Hi littlerr - thanks very much for your posts - always find them useful.littlerr wrote: ↑Wed Jul 29, 2020 4:36 pmWe don’t know what the new minister will do, but based on previous experiences, applications will enter an ‘advanced’ stage 3-4 months before the next scheduled ceremony.GoWentGone123 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 29, 2020 1:13 pmAlso to let everyone know that these are my very first posts so please bear with me if i post something which has already been discussed. They go through a final check by the staff, and then they are sent to the minister for sign off.
People get the approval letter around 2 months before the ceremony. Pay the fee. Send over the photos, and receive the invitation around 3-4 weeks before the ceremony.
Things might be a bit different now that we have a new minister and they are organising a large scale virtual ceremony.
