Child born in UK before either parents had ILR

Post by Dheerajitsme » Wed Jul 15, 2020 10:49 am

Hi,

My son was born in Dec 2019. At that time neither of his parents had an ILR. We haven't applied for his Indian Passport yet. Now recently I have got ILR. I have read through different forums that now I can apply for my son's British Citizenship through MN1 process.

My question is that if I don't apply for his citizenship now but wait for my British Citizenship till next year, will there be different process for his citizenship application? Or it is still MN1 process? Will there be any difference in fees paid toward the process?

Regards
Dheeraj

No different process.

Yes.
Will there be any difference in fees paid toward the process?
There is NO difference in fees if he applies now or you apply when you qualify. There is NO family discount type fee. Each person apply has to pay the stated fee. UKVI also increases fees in April each year.
