Visa Stamped on: 18/07/2008

It took just 2 working days which is very efficient.

Cheers,

jus an update from my end for the benefit of forum members:

Visa type : HSMP
Applied on : 4th Aug
VFS : Chennai, India
Status : Stamped 21 Aug

Proofs submitted :
1. VAF2 form (HSMP depdenent)
2. Spouse passport
3. Copy of UK rental agreement
4. Letter from my landlord approving my wife's accomodation
5. Copy of my offer letter
6. Letter from my company stating "im a permanent employee"
7. 1 Month sal slip
8. 3 months bank statement(2 of them taken in a bank ATM kiosk, 1 original)
9. Marriage certificate(original)
10. Marriage photo
11. DD for 17425

While submitting, the VFS guy asked me for more marriage photos(i submitted only one) & marriage invitation, i said i didnt bring those, he said all those r only suggested documentation, none of them r mandatory except marriage certificate. I asked him to proceed with the existing docs.

If u need any info regarding this pm me.

Thanks for all the members of the forum. I'll try my best to share my experience and contribute my 2 cents (rather 2 pence :D )to the forum.

cheers

@037,

wats ur real question?

u r contradicting ur own questions. one of ur post u say u have applied for ur husband as hsmp dependent, and now u ask u want to apply for hsmp dependent.

If you can clearly state ur question forum members will be able to help u.

as far as i was told(by VFS chennai), hsmp dependent applications take 10 to 15 working days for BHC to decide.

I applied on 4th aug and got it stamped 21st aug. so totally it took 13 working days for me. according to ur application date, the decision shud've been taken yesterday ie., 27 aug which is the 15th day.

u can call VFS customer services to get an update, even they wud tell u the status that is there in the online tracking, so no point. u have to wait.

here is the contact for VFS : http://www.vfs-uk-in.com/contactus.aspx

Dear All,

I had few queries about the dependent visa procedure. I have clarified most of them in this forum. However I still have couple of queries about filling the VAF2 form. Since couple of people in this thread have used this form for their dependent visa, please clarify them.

1. Question 6.4.14 (How much do you spend each month on living costs?). The dependent is in India and have not worked so far. Should I fill in with an estimated amount of her expense for a month whilst living in the UK? What did your dependents fill in?

2. What did you guys fill in for question 6.3.20 (When is the job of spouse expected to finish?). Since I'm on HSMP visa and on a permanent job, can I say "Permanent"?

Thanks,
dk79

1. Question 6.4.14
>>its up to u to fill-in a reasonable amount.

2.question 6.3.20
put ur hsmp expiry date(this was suggested by a VFS guy)

i wud like to thank you for replying me!

I got my hsmp on 14/12/2007, at that time he was a student after dat we went backhome and got married, his first attempt wasnt success as my dependent, which was through colombo. so this is his second attempt, which he applied on 06/08/08 through chennai. its been exactly one month no reply from them. we have been together only one month but we ve been married 9 months.
i got no much idea abt his docs cos at dat time i was in the uk. they said only 15 working days but now its been 21 working days.
they never understand our situation, not only me most of people suffering from this problem. I guess its god's wish....however i wish them al those suffering people very best with their visas!
even it didnt success there will be a time for al of us ..soo cheer up!
