Has anyone received processed applications from VFS after services resumed following the coronavirus lockdown?

Hello everyone,

With VFS services resuming world over gradually since May 2020, I applied for my wife's visa (Tier 2 Dependant) on 6 July in New Delhi and haven't received any update yet. It is now 16 working days since the application today. I understand only Standard applications are being accepted as of now and Priority/Super-Priority are not being accepted.

Has any one received processed applications after the lockdown ended and VFS services resumed?

When should I write to or call UKVI to check regarding the status of the application?

I applied on 10th July. No update. Did you try mailing to UKVI on paid email?

Yes i emailed they have escalated to relevant department.

My application is only for my wife's visa (Dependant), so there is no question of Restricted or Unrestricted CoS for this application. As for my CoS, that was Unrestricted, back in December 2019.

I haven't emailed UKVI yet. From responses here it seems the delay is uniform across applicants and not just in my case. Is an email necessary, as I think the delay is because of the pandemic related backlog?

I called Ukvi today and they updated me that decision is made.

Do you think they take unrestricted easier than RCOS? Is it easier to get the visa with unrestricted?

I've received an SMS from VFS confirming that a processed application has been received at the Application Centre (New Delhi for me). We are yet to arrange collection - after resuming services, walk-in passport collections as done previously have been suspended, applicants are now contacted personally to arrange collection through an appointment.

Overall, the point I'd like to convey through this thread is that visa services appear to have come back on albeit with understandable delays (3-4 days) and safety procedures to mitigate the spread of the virus.

Just to confirm and close this thread for the benefit of others in the same situation:

We were contacted via a phone call by VFS and were asked if a specific appointment was okay.

After that call, we were given a confirmation email which had to be shown at VFS before we could enter to collect the passport.

Therefore, please note that you are not supposed to walk-in and collect your passport like earlier, before the covid-19 situation. Please be available to attend the phone from VFS to get your appointment to avoid further delays, once they have sent an SMS saying they'll contact you soon. Missing that call can cause long unnecessary delays. (Visa Center: New Delhi)

Anyone applied from Hyderabad or Chennai!?

I have applied from Hyderabad on July 10th for a Visa Vignette Extension.

We did not get the passport back yet!

Any idea regarding the timelines for these centres? I tried calling the UK embassy in Chennai but the offices look to be closed on normal working days! Would the embassy be closed by any chance!?

I submitted documents and biometrics in VFS chennai on 16th March. But still no update from HO or VFS. I tried contacting immigration office and received generic email response that the application will be processed. Its been almost 2 months after lockdown lift, but no response. Can someone help please?
