Being asked for unnecessary documents.

Post by mkhoja1 » Thu Jul 30, 2020 4:15 pm

Hello,
So I have applied for a tier 2 visa (with in the uk) last month and had received an email from WandSContingency to submit some documents. Which I did.
After that I was contacted to be told that I could book an appointment for biometrics as the centre had opened and I went in and did that.

Today I got an email asking for bank statements to prove maintenance. Now my tier 2 sponsor has already confirmed on the CoS that they will cover that. And I was asked that during my application too which I informed them.

I don’t understand why then am I being asked for a bank statement. Luckily I did have my bank statement ready in case it was required and I have sent it. But my bank is in Pakistan and I am not sure if that will be an issue.

Also, Has anyone else faced this Where they’ve been asked for documents they don’t need to provide?

Hi
i was asked by WandSontignency for such unnecessary documents for in-country Tier 2 G application. But they had after each document they asked, they have a bracket saying 'unless you are exempt as of immigration rules....). So it is a generic email. obviously according to immigration rules, if you are on T2G you do not need to provide maintenance proof.
i am not sure why they asked you in particular the bank statements. maybe you can also send you CoS pointing that your A-rated sponsor has certified your maintenance.

Thanks for the response Raj, I did originally get the generic email with the bracket saying 'unless you are exempt...' and I did respond by saying I was exempt. But this is a new email and they are asking for the particular document, which I did send them in the end. I don't think they're actually reading the emails, they are only receiving the documents. Not sure. As for the CoS, I just have the reference Number, not the actual CoS.

At this point, I am just hopeful that the bank statement I provided will suffice, it does fulfil the time and money requirements, its just that my Bank is in Pakistan. But the policy guidance doesn't say anything about it being only a UK bank, it does give a list of banks they accept statements from outside the uk and my bank is on it, so hopefully it will be fine.

Hi
The second email asking for bank statements , is it from WandS or from a Case worker ?
Thanks

That one was from ‘Home Office Atlas’.

I’m also very confused because when I went for biometrics they uploaded my documents and passport there too. It feels like both methods are processing The applications separately?
