Early application of ILR

Post by LZ_90 » Mon Jul 13, 2020 10:07 am

Hi guys, I’m eligible to apply for ILR on 12 August (ie 28days before 5 years qualification) but given the recent delay in processing all the applications and the fact that I may need to travel overseas in late September, would it be a good idea that I submit my online application now and upload my supporting docs in late July so that I can make appointment/be considered for e-biometrics reuse earlier? I understand that the 28 days rules are the later of qualifying period or decision date.

Thanks very much

The date of your application is the date you submit and pay for your application online not the appointment. so I think you can not apply or submit your application before your eligible date.

You can start your application online in advance, but you can't submit it until at least 28 days before the 5 year anniversary of initial entry date. You are required to pay when you submit (online) and then the system gives you a link to the UKVCAS site, to register there book a biometric appointment and upload the scanned documents. (The decision date does not come into the calculations).

Consent form

Post by LZ_90 » Thu Jul 30, 2020 9:10 am

As a part of the application for ILR (Set O), I’m required to upload the signed consent form, allowing home office to conduct verification. Pls could anyone advise where I can find this form? Or do I simply need to print the relevant page where I ticked “consent” in the application form and sign it?

Thanks everyone for your input

They are downloadable at the end, it has 3 parts to it, as far as I understand from other members posts.

Hi all,

I have just applied for ILR SET O. I need to sign the declaration form as well but just wanted to check if they have come up with any flexibility during COVID as I don't have printing facility at home....

I'm also interested to hear what can be done if you don't have a printer. Is it possible to sign the document digitally and upload that?

All local computer/mobile shops and public libraries are still in operation.

Earliest application date

Post by LZ_90 » Tue Aug 11, 2020 11:56 pm

Hi everyone,

If my tier 2 (general) visa was issued on 9th Sep 2015, am I right in saying that the earliest day when I can submit my application is therefore 12th August 2020?

Thank you :)

Upto 28 days before 5th anniversary counting from visa issue date or before visa expiry.
Your calculation is correct but I always like to give at least 1-2 days margin on top of it.

Same thinking - just to be on the safe side. Case worker might count wrongly 😂
