Tier 2 - Starting Work while Application is still in Process (Biometrics pending)

Hello All / Moderator :

I have applied for a Tier 2 General Visa with a new employer with a CoS job start date in September 2020. My current T2 only expires in 2022.

I have received a biometric re-use email last week and hopefully the next steps will happen soon.

Under the new Covid Guidance I believe I can start the new job if the application has been made and even if the decision is still pending and it is in process

Does my employer or me need to do anything else to ensure that I can start working in September as per the CoS start date ( Just in case the visa is still in process ) ?

As long as the Covid guidance is in place, you can start working after submitting your application. you just have to show proof to your employer that you applied and paid the relevant fee.

No as long as the guidance is in place and CoS is assigned you can start work.

Hi CR001 : Would you be able to
guide if my understanding is correct?

I am assuming the guidance says I will be able
to start working if the CoS is in place
and I have made the application before my visa expires .

I start a new Job on September 2nd week and my end date for the old job is 4th September . My current T2 Visa is valid until 2022
