Passport Validity Question

Guys,

Saw the following in Annex C (Page 8(Eight)) of VAF9 Main form (AUG 2008). Please can you clarify what this means ? Surely my passport need not be valid till 6 months after my tier1 initial visa expires ?? There is no clarification of what is meant by 'intended date of departure from the UK' also. Please advise.

Got the following reply from VFS North.. Have asked same question to BHC through their email id as well.
Got some additional piece of info regarding help in application filling too from VFS...

With regard to your query, please be informed that to apply for a U.K visa, your passport should be valid for at least 6 months from the date of submission of your application.

There is an optional service available at the application center for form filling assistance. The applicable fee is 56.INR per application. We request you to please visit the application center in person to seek assistance for form filling.
