Hello everyone,
So the new Health and care visas have been announced with reduced visa fees, shorter processing time and exemption from pay IHS. These visas will open from 4th Aug 2020 to apply for. As far as i understand these are under tier 2 general visa. Is that right? will applying for them for extension affect the time period for ILR cycle?any insight will be much appreciated, thanks

Until the actual immigration rules and official guidance notes are published, no one can answer your questions.
It only went to parliament a few days ago.

Hi,
Any update or clarification available now for this? Also wondering who are eligible to apply via this visa? Only specified SOC employees directly employed by NHS or even individual healthcare workers not directly employed by NHS but have contract with NHS to provide health care service. We are looking to extend out TIER 2 general visa via this route if eligible
Many thanks!

The answer does not change since you asked on 24th July.
We don't work for UKVI so it would be impossible for any of us to offer advice on a visa route there is no further rinformairon for.

The Tier 2 PBS- Policy Guidance was updated with the Health and Care visa on 14 July 2020.

Those on this visa being exempt from the IHS (and for their dependants) is part of the
The Immigration (Health Charge) (Amendment) Order 2020. This is the same order that also brings in the rise in the IHS to £624 for some and £470 for others.

The Immigration (Health Charge) (Amendment) Order 2020 is not due to commence until October.
Transitional provision
3. In relation to an application for entry clearance or leave to remain made before the coming into force of this Order, the Principal Order applies without the amendments made by this Order.

Thank you CR001 and JB007 for your replies. I understand further guidance on this visa was published in middle of July in the following updates
https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... idance.pdf
https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... 0_v1.0.pdf
But since I am no expert in immigration or the legal terms I was hoping for some advice from the experts here. I presumed that since applications for this visa will be accepted from tomorrow, more information will be available with the experts. If anybody could shed further information on my queries I will be grateful.
Many thanks!

Your first link is the same link I gave to the guidance above. There doesn't seem to be any legal terms and it's self explanatory.
Your second link is for employers.

The goverment IHS page has been updated-
Health and care workers
...
If you’re a health or care worker who would qualify for this visa but paid the IHS on or after 31 March 2020 you will get a refund.

Thank you for your replies. I have read through the guidance notes and it still does not clear my query about ilr. My understanding is that the application for health and care visa is under tier 2 general. So am i right in assuming that my clock for ilr will not reset when i apply for extension through this category?
Many thanks
