Relative Definition for Character References

Post by rubedo » Mon Aug 17, 2020 10:19 am

Hi all,

Apologies if this has been asked already, does anybody know if a godparent (ie person whose name appears on the baptismal certificate) is considered a relative for the purposes of the character reference?

Thanks vm in advance.

A relative is defined as someone related to you/applicant by blood or through marriage.

A god parent that is NOT related by blood or through marriage is NOT a relative. However if the god parent is a relative through marriage to your relative, then you cannot use them.

There is also NO requirement to submit a baptism certificate for citizenship.
