My understanding from other similar posts is that it's the document's validity at time of submission so your passport will be fine because it's proving identity at the time of application. Thinking about it more practically pretty much every application will have expired documents (the address ones, for example, are typically only considered valid for three months) and they wouldn't be able to afford the time or cost of getting new documents for everyone.serenitybyjan wrote: ↑Mon Aug 17, 2020 3:18 pmI am due to get married in a few months and given the timeline is so unclear at the moment, would I need to submit any new documents in my new name or as everything I’ve submitted was in my maiden name will that be ok?
Also, another silly question, if my passport expires before they get to my application due to the long time this has been delayed by, will they accept this as it was valid when I first submitted?
Same thing for the maiden name (congratulations, by the way). If all your documents match your birth name it doesn't matter. They won't know that you change your name subsequently. Make sure you get an extra copy of the marriage certificate for when you apply for the passport though!
