Tier 4 Dependant Visa - Work Permit

Post by hrishik88 » Fri Aug 14, 2020 4:48 pm

Hi All, I just received a confirmation that my Tier 4 Dependant visa application is successful, but it mentions that:

Remark: “NO WORK NO ENGAGING IN BUSINESS”
As you have been granted leave as the dependant of a Tier 4 (General) Student who has been granted leave for a period of less than 12 months, and/or is following a course of study below degree level, you are prohibited from taking employment or engaging in any business in the United Kingdom.

My spouse's leave is more than 12 months and her course comes under the RFQ7 category. Has anyone received something similar in the past and what could be done to remedy the situation?

Thanks,
HB

Seems to be clearly an error. Does the letter that came with it not explain how to query any errors or request a correction of an error?

Thanks for the response. They have a provision for administrative review that can be applied within the next 14 days. Do you know if this error is common.

I haven’t received my BRP yet, so should I wait till it gets confirmed in the BRP? Thanks

Mistakes in the length or conditions of your visa
If you applied for your visa from inside the UK, you can ask for an administrative review.

Yes of course. It may well be a copy and paste error on the letter.

Are such error common? I am wondering, how they can make such a grave mistake. It’s causing a lot of stress and anxiety on my side.

There is no need for stress and anxiety. If it is just a copy and paste error in the letter, and the BRP is correct, that is the end of it. If it does turn out that the BRP has the same error, it can be corrected as people have advised above. Either way, it should not be a problem.

Hi hrishik88

I got the same email as well on 18th August. Did you get your BRP and does it say the same as per the email? Kindly clarify? Also how many did it take to get the BRP

Hi, I received the BRP on Wednesday, i.e. 4 days after I received my email. The BRP doesn’t state any such restrictions. So, in all probability, you have got the same error on your email as I did. Good luck! Thanks.

Thanks hrishik88 for the clarification.

We got the BRP today and on the spouse visa it says Restricted work, No DR/DEN TRAINING or SPORTSMEN.
On checking the right to work site with the BRP id, it says the restriction is on working/training as Doctor/Dental/Sportsmen.
So the email was a general one too, Thanks for sharing your experience.

Regards
GP
