Old address on decision letter

Post by rarbg » Fri Aug 21, 2020 4:12 pm

We received our decision letter for FLR(M) 3 days ago, but it had our old address (from the time of application back in May). This is despite updating our address with UKVI in July and submitting a cover letter explaining the change of address, which seems to have been overlooked by the case worker.

We don't have a tracking number for the BRP yet (it seems not everyone gets one), so we're a bit worried it's been sent to the old address. I've tried contacting UKVI but the call centre is unable to help.

Does anyone have experience of updating your address BEFORE the decision letter, and still getting the BRP sent to the new address? Maybe the decision letter is generated automatically using the address at time of application, with the case worker being able to manually update the records.

If we don't receive it within 10 working days then we'll obviously be able to report it to UKVI, and force them to redeliver to the new address.

Changing address with UKVI has always been remained troublesome from the very outset. Proactively you should start contacting to TNT/DX courier to arrange its (BRP) delivery to your new/desired address.
