Hi,

I don't understand the following from their latest guidance
"the new grant of leave must not exceed a period beyond 5 years from when
the fingerprints were last enrolled – we do not want to delete fingerprints before
the person is either required to apply for further leave or leave the UK"

I got my brp in December 2017; so now am waiting for a decision on my application. The above would mean that there is a chance that I might get the new grant which would be less than 2.5 years?

Am I misunderstanding this?

My partner submitted his biometrics yesterday (he was not eligible for reuse)

We received a letter from W&S contingency mentioning delay today (for some reason the letter mentions UKVCAS appointment points closure due to COVID as a reason although he just submitted his biometrics. The letter is signed with a caseworker name.)
I remember reading here about other people received such letter yin the past and had results quickly. Did anyone report receiving a letter like this lately?

btw although I am personally eligible for reuse I decided to go to an in person appointment instead (in a few days from now)...I would have done it through the app but the timeline for that looks uncertain at the moment and I am worried that my husband and chid who applied as his dependent won’t get their approvals until I am approved as well. Fingers crossed both will happen reasonably soon.
Thanks for your help :)

Hi everyone -- is there anyone who submitted biometrics in August who are still waiting for a decision letter? I'm a June applicant and deliberately opted out of the app based on the implication that a decision would come quicker w/ an in-person appointment. I have an exceedingly straightforward application (Set O off the back of T2 5 years). Is there a line or email address I can call, similar to what outside UK applicants have? Is there anything I can do to escalate? I emailed my MP in July who emailed the home office MP email address on my behalf. I just want to make sure I've exhausted all possible avenues. Frustrating to see people who've submitted bio-metrics via the app this month who've already had decisions (I can't fathom the frustration I'd have if I was one of the march/april applicants).

Same boat as you - applied in July no response. Provided biometrics on the 19th - no response.

Hi All,

I was following this thread from couple of months now. My question is related to the IDV app and Biometrics. Hope some one can provide me an answer.

overview :
I have applied the Tier 2 visa extension along with my two dependent on 30th July 2020. And got the e-mail on re-use of biometrics details on 5th Aug and decided to opt in. Also I have submitted all the documents via website UKVCAS.

Still now I'm waiting for the e-mail to use the IDV app so that I can upload the photos ( I have checked the app & no luck so far seems it was not yet enabled for me).

So my question is , did any one received the e-mail from home office e-mail ID similar to one below( I got it today). Is it just a normal e-mail stating that my application process will take time ( as I have not yet booked the appointment and didn't Submitted the photos yet via IDV app)

e-mail content:

Dear Customer,
Thank you for your application for permission to stay in the UK.
We apologise for the inconvenience, however, due to the worldwide response to COVID-19, UKVI services are currently limited and we are not able to meet our usual service standards.
Although we would normally decide your application within eight weeks from the date it was submitted, unfortunately this is may not be possible in your case.
As global travel and public health restrictions begin to lift following coronavirus, Visa Application Centres (VACs) and UK Visa and Citizenship Application Centres (UKVCAS) are resuming services where local restrictions allow, it is safe, and both customers and staff are protected.

In order to provide services for our most vulnerable customers, Support Service Centres (SSCs) reopened a limited service from 20 April and UKVCAS commenced a wider phased resumption of services from 1 June 2020. However, given the impact across our whole network, this process will take time and not all UKVI services are going to be available immediately, or at full capacity.

Whilst UKVI has started to reopen some of its locations and services, this is not a full resumption of services. We will continue to take a steady and phased approach to ensure services can be delivered safely and effectively. Our priority is the safety of our customers and staff, to ensure we can deliver an effective service that meets public health guidelines.
If your application was submitted prior to your current leave expiring, if the Home Office has not made a decision by this date your immigration status within the United Kingdom will be protected by statutorily extended leave under the provision of section 3C of the Immigration Act 1971. If your application is unsuccessful and you submit an admin review, you will be further protected by section 3C until a decision has been made on the admin review. You do not need to do anything else at this stage and do not need to be concerned about your immigration status.
Further information about Section 3C leave can be found at the following link:
https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... %20applies
If you have applied to switch your status in respect of your employment or studies then please refer to the guidance on Gov.UK https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus ... -residents as you should be permitted to commence work / study prior to your application being decided, should you meet the conditions set out in the guidance.
We apologise for the delay in dealing with your application and for the inconvenience this is causing. Please be assured we will do all we can to make a decision on your case as quickly as possible.
We appreciate your patience at this time.

Yours faithfully
Work Sponsored

For ILR Applicants who have received email with subject starting with UKVI DELAY NOTICE, have you had any further communication since this email? Or is this a generic email.

I have applied for SET(O) ILR and submitted biometrics through IDV and now received a similar email today, with content:
Although we would normally decide your application within six months from the date it was submitted, unfortunately this is may not be possible in your case.

Hi All. I applied for my ILR on 01st April and submitted the documents/photo via IDV app on 21st August.

I still have not received any response and I'm getting very stressed out. It's been 5 months and 7 days of waiting... :(

I really don't know what to do!
I applied on 28 March and submitted my biometrics with the app on 19 August. I have just received my approval email! Hang in there, it is coming.

To everyone else who has used the app - it seems decisions are finally being made! Thanks for all the support!

Me too worried a lot. Applied on 28th March 2020 and submitted my bio-metric via app on 19th August 2020 around 7ish but no news so far
Just a quick Update. I received my decision today morning.

After someone gets a decision, how long does it take to receive a biometric card after that?

You should ask NON biomtric appointment questions in your own topic and not in this thread please.

BRP can take 7 to 10 working days.

I have written to UKVCAS over Twitter and to my surprise, they have replied very quickly.

However, the reply I got is a rather interesting one.

Even though I opted out on 7th of August for an in-person appointment, which I had believed it'd be faster than App and still had no correspondence on that front,
UKVCAS replied to me saying that "I can see on the system that you've been granted access to the app on 04/09."

What on earth is going on?! As I applied through solicitor, I asked them how to proceed in this case. I don't know if anyone is in a similar situation but wanted to let you know all the awaiting applicants.

June 12th applicant, Set O, with a dependent
Applied through solicitor
Opted out for in-person appointment.

@berege
You have to check with your solicitor. Probably the solicitor is not picking up emails or checking junk folder etc. Do you have your log in details or your solicitor has??
Try logging in the UKVCAS account or IDV app. It should work if access is given since 4th Sep.

Not particularly judging your solicitor but with so many people struggling through solicitors, looks like there are some dodgy ones out there. Moderators and gurus on this forum are more knowledgeable. It's a shame that solicitors are not paying serious attention that is required even though they charge a handsome amount.
