I've been waiting since April, no letter. My council restarted ceremonies in July. Submitted a complaint to the HO in August, the response was the standard text that letters should arrive within the next 8-12 weeks. The response didn't contain any specific information about my application, in particular, they didn't confirm whether or not the certificate was printed and the letter sent, but they asked not to contact the councils and also not to contact the HO with requests to attend a ceremony in a different council..
Can members please keep their ceremony and invitation questions in the specific topic we already have regarding this and not post these questions in this General Discussion topic!!nnn15 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 09, 2020 9:00 amI've been waiting since April, no letter. You can travel within the EU and back to the UK till 31st December on your Italian ID card.
Thanks Simon, I lived in this country since 2001 and I no longer have an ID card, so can't do that.secret.simon wrote: ↑Thu Sep 17, 2020 3:22 pmYou can travel within the EU and back to the UK till 31st December on your Italian ID card.
Can you not apply for a replacement ID card from the Italian embassy?
If I could do that then I'd just renew my expired passport, right? and I wouldn't be here asking for suggestion...Can you not apply for a replacement ID card from the Italian embassy?
I apllied last year 7th November and im still waiting aswell i keep getting covid 19 email but last week i got new email sayingMonse wrote: ↑Thu Sep 17, 2020 3:02 pmHello everyone,
I'm trying to stay calm but after 11 months since my application (October 2019) and I haven't yet heard anything back from the HO other than an email at exact 6 months that said my application was delay because of Covid.
I tried to email and called but no one is getting back to me at all.
I've tried asking my local citizen b. but they told me the HO is not open and they can't help.
Any suggestion on what I could try next? My Italian passport is also expire now but the consulate is only processing emergencies so I'm stuck.
Thank you in advance for any suggestions.
I am on the same timeline and received almost identical email after sending a chaser. not sure what those agencies are but my guess is "good character" checks?? they are happy with basic requirements but dont like something in my past and want to know if I am worthy of the privilege?Alisher715 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 7:32 amI applied on 17th of Feb 2020 and still waiting.
I tried to chase several times but every time i got response that your application is still in 6 months period.
I emailed them after the expiry of 6 months and got that reply
Dear
Thank you for your email of 13th August regarding your application for British citizenship. Please accept our apologies for the delay in replying.
I can confirm that your application is in the process and that decisions on applications are usually made within six months.
I am sorry if your application is taking longer than usual to be processed. As you may be aware, naturalisation is not an automatic process, and we have to make a number of enquiries to ensure that applicants can satisfy the statutory requirements. Some of these enquiries are carried out by external agencies on our behalf and can sometimes take longer than six months to complete.
The Home Office will endeavour to process applications as quickly as possible but in the current circumstances, applications will take longer than normal to process, including applications for British Citizenship. If you have submitted an application and are concerned about missing a deadline to enrol biometrics, provide additional information or take a citizenship ceremony, please be assured that extra time will be allowed, and applications will be held open during this period. No adverse decisions will be made on applications because of delays caused by Coronavirus.
Please be assured that as soon as we are in a position to reach a decision, you will be notified accordingly.
Yours sincerely

This may be very helpful for many people with ILR but previous overstaying holding them to apply .I will appreciate if you can share a brief immigration history as well.
Thank you

These are the questions.

Please provide all addresses in full
3.Who was responsible for paying your accommodation costs (rent, utility bills etc)?
Please provide any available supporting evidence, eg utility bills, tenancy agreements, rent statements, mortgage statements etc
4.When and where did you work during this period?
Please provide evidence eg letters from employers, P60s/P45s, statements of account if self-employed

Thank you for your information. So HO doesn't follow its own guidance &can grant or refuse nationality to anyone they want .Rules don't make sense.Good for those who get granted but a nightmare for those who get refused on overstaying &working illegally or those who don't apply in fear of losing money due to confusing rules. Some cases like yours have a little hope for Overstayers if they want to take risk.Goodluck in future.
Did you contact Home Office? Try contacting them and ask for an update.Alisher715 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2020 1:00 amHi
I have applied naturalistaion on 17th feb on ilr 1 year basis and done my biomatrics on 19th feb after that no response.
Anyone else in the same situation?
What i can do to speed things up as i am getting worried?
Thanks
From your submission date = application date - the acknowledgement, when/if received (next day, or later, or never sometimes), is just that.vahidfar wrote: ↑Tue Oct 27, 2020 2:27 pmHi all,
I applied and paid for my application on 19th of July however I received the acknowledgement email with case ID on 14th of August. isn't that a bit strange to get the acknowledgement almost after a month?
should I count the 6 months processing time from the July date or the August one?
Thanks a lot
