Tier 2 General Dependent / Passport validity

Hi,

My passport validity is expiring April 2021. I'm planning to switch to Tier 2 General Dependent by end of this year.

Should I need to renew my passport before applying for Tier 2 General ? Due to COVID, not sure how long it takes to renew my passport within UK.

Please guide

India passport turn-around time is usually quick. Not sure if they are tendering normal operations now.
You can contact VFS of latest turn-around time and decide
Any suggestions I make in the forum are out my personal experience and should not be taken as a legal/professional advise.
