At what time does UKVCAS normally open for the booking? I assume people who applied just after Sep 4 deadline, including myself, will now have to compete for next week's available slots?

You will have to keep checking. Official update says from 21st Sep but it may open up even before that. Note 9am - 530pm slots are free at a core centre. All enhanced/premium lounge/weekend/out of above hours are paid anyways. You will be able to secure an appointment faster if you pay or within 2 weeks if you go for a free appointment. That was the standard pre-covid and since the service is resumed to full capacity it should be the case now also.

Personal suggestion for anyone (who applied between March -July and needs an URGENT decision) & who submitted biometrics via IDV app ONLY and still waiting for more than 3 weeks:

You may want to consider booking a FREE appointment now and go for dual submission to test your luck. For now free appointments are available for next week. Free appointments maybe consumed quickly after it opens for ALL on 21st Sep.

If i get the decision letter before, I can cancel the appointment

I went for appointment ONLY on 12/09/2020. Application was submitted 21/08/2020, and it's SET(0) - Tier 2 General route, via solicitor assigned by my current employer. My 5 years period was split between two employers. I'm still waiting (have been refreshing right to work page and my inbox every 15 minutes today!

I got my decision today at 6pm!!!

I've been following this forum since June, before I did my LITUK test. Because of this forum (and Moderators and Gurus' advice) I chose to go down the route of not waiting for Priority service to return, to opting in on the in-person Biometric route because of this thread. All the best to those waiting for their decisions. Take care All!

I just tried that one and could see the appointments. Thank you very much!

Bad news that Reading doesn't have any available appointments but it is good to have an option in London if I need an in-person appointment. Also good to know there isn't any system error

Its good news that UKVCAS has reverted back to normal routine, IDV app is no more, but given the current situation and corona case spike, if things get worse, UKVCAS might have to use IDV app again. You never know. Hope things do not go towards a national lockdown again!!!

I have used the IDV app to submit my facial image on 6th Sept. It seems many have used IDV app, as well as physical appointment. I am a bit worried now as some of the SET LR cases that have received the decisions quickly were physical appointments. Should I be looking for an appointment? Any suggestions would be useful.
