Visa Extension

Post by rafi_aamiri78692 » Fri Sep 18, 2020 11:35 am

Hi,

My employer has sponsored 3 years Tier-2 General Visa and they mentioned will extend for next two years when three years is near to complete.

In this case will the CoS will change or will the only the extension of the CoS.

Please advise

Thank you

You get a new CoS for an extension and the visa will be granted only for the duration stated in the CoS.

No it is not restricted to two years.

You won't get an extension for 5 years even the CoS says 5 years. The most you will get is 3 years. You cannot hold a tier 2 general visa for more than 6 years in total.

Apply in UK with an Unrestricted CoS. If you leave to apply, you are likely subject to the 12 month cooling off period.

I am currently given restricted CoS for three years does the extension can be made as unrestricted CoS

For Tier-2 General Visa is there any cooling period as I understand this is only for ICT visa

For an extension if you already hold a tier 2 general, you MUST have a UNRESTRICTED CoS. Restricted CoS is for applications outside the UK, which does not apply to you.
For Tier-2 General Visa is there any cooling period as I understand this is only for ICT visa
If you leave the UK, the cooling off period will apply before you can come back unless you meet the very limit exception requirements.
