ILR queries

Post by rezamalakooti » Wed Aug 26, 2020 4:10 pm

Hi,
I have a question about the letters from the employer for the ILR application. The headquarter office of the company is in Canada and they all work from home because of Covid.
They have sent me the absence letter and employer letter both to my email and the director signed the form electronically. As they are working from home, I can not have the original letters and they are all electronic now.
My question is if I need to have the original letters for ILR application? and also if they are required to be stamped?

Thank you for your help.

The letter you have will suffice.

Due to Covid, e-signatures should be fine, however, most importantly the letter should be in acceptable format such as pdf instead email/screenshot printout.

Hi All,

Many thanks for answering my ILR questions so far as they were really helpful. I have another question with regards to the question in our ILR application (myself and my wife) which is "When did you first enter the UK?"

My question is shall I put the issue date of my tier-2 visa (1st October 2015) or start date of work (19 October 2015)?
How about my wife is it the date of start of my work or her dependent visa issue date (29 September 2015)?

My problem is that we were in UK in 2015 when we received our tier-2 visas as we had tier-4 and dependent tier-4 visas before that. After we received our teir-2 visas, my wife stayed in UK for nearly two weeks and then she traveled out of UK to visit her family for nearly 3 months. Therefore on 19th october (my start date of work), she was not in UK.

Could you please advise if this is okay to put the date of tier-2 visa issue date in our ILR application for that question as we were indeed in UK on that time. Thanks for you help.

This is perhaps one of the most frequently asked question which always receive a reverberating answer that the date of issuance of visa matters.
