LONG RESIDENCE - How do I Apply for the Children

Post by babaty2k02 » Wed Sep 30, 2020 8:27 pm

Good day ALL,

I amasking this on behalf of a family friend. Both husband and wife are on different route towards ILR. The husband already applied. The wife wanted to apply now wit the children (in same application) but was surprised to see ...

Your family members (‘dependants’) can apply separately if they’re eligible.

A dependant is your:

partner
child

How will the children apply (seperately)?

Thank you

The child will apply together when your partner applies for ILR.

What visa are they on?

What is your immigration status?

Which route you followed?

Under long residence, there is no concept of dependant as each applicant must apply separately and qualify separately on their own. The child either must qualify under the long residence SET(LR) on his/her own or if parents both become settled, the child can apply under SET(F)

To prevent loads of back and forth before getting correct information and the delay that can arise for mods and versed people on the forum, can inform friend to register and make her clarifications directly.
