When I scan bank statements and payslips, is it better to scan as one file (with all payslips/ bank statement together) or scan by monthly.

Arrange it in such an order to make it easy for CW to go through, then can scan together as one or split if it exceeds uploadable size.
The app ilovepdf can help you in this with splitting or merging.

You could merge all payslips into one file for example, and bank statements into another file, and so on.

Hi all,

This could be the trickiest part of my application.

My wife is a distant relative of mine. We have met on a family function couple of times (let's say 8-9 years ago) and at that time we were very young and there wasn't any discussion of marriage.

Unofficial marriage discussions happened in April 2016. However, we didn't communicate through voice calls due to cultural and religious reasons. We kept in touch through WhatsApp. Unfortunately, my phone damaged in October 2019 and I lost all these data i.e.. all WhatsApp chats. She hasn't got any record of it either due to other technical issues. At that time I wasn't aware all these are required for visa application as proof of marriage and now there isn't any backup available.

I kept all call logs since wedding and I have other evidences such as wedding invitations and pictures. Is it sufficient?

In that scenario resetting this saga from the date of wedding might pane out better and easily manageable for you.

There are two questions about this on application.
  • when did you meet his spouse?
  • when did the relationship again?
I answered 05/2019 for these both questions. That's when we officially met. As I said initially there isnt anything to back up our claim.

1. Shall I change my answer or keep it like that?
2. Shall I include this in my covering letter?

If 05/2019 was when you started off with intention of being partners or spouses then that should be Ok. you may give a background to it in the cover letter that though you knew each other from about 9 years ago, it was by 05/2019 that you gave thoughts to spending life with each other as spouses.

Seems a case of arranged marriage in supervision of parents/family member or under religious protocols involving near to none meaningful interrelatedness prior to marriage. Simply use the same date of marriage for both questions, and supply the synonymous subsisting relationship evidences from that point.

Thank you AmazonianX for your reply. In my place, everyone knows each other one way or another since there were a lot marriages within the family/ village in old days.

As I mentioned there is no chat/ call logs/ pictures to back up that. I only have call logs from December 6 (from when I got back to UK). Is this okay?

Hi,

I have made a mistake in my wifes spouse visa aplication.
Basically I have switched my first and surnames.

Instead of e.g John Totley as on passport,
The aplication refers to me as Totley John.
Will this effect my wifes aplication, would home office know it is just a minor error, should I write a cover letter explaining the error? Thank-you

It's not fair to the original poster to ask this question here.

Hopefully you'll get a response in the other thread where you've now asked the question.

Dear all,

I am stuck at some question on the application. Can anyone please advise/ guide.

Does anyone else, other than mallu_desi and their dependants, live at this property?

Sorry, I couldn't post the question completely. It doesn't allow me to edit now.

I found this question very vague.

As mentioned before, I am currently living with my parents (the house is mortagaged under dad's name) and I have a brother (he is 24 and not married). I don't have any dependants.

1. How should I answer this?
2. Do HO want me to provide my parent's and brother's information?

1&2) Simply disclose truthfully the name and brief description of all occupants in the given section.

Can anyone please advise how to approach this question:

This question is under sponsor section.

Will the sponsor be travelling with you to the UK?

They also asking sponsor's passport number if you say yes.

I am planning to travel to India to pick my wife up If the application gets approved and she gets the visa. As you know, Covid-19 situation is very bad there and in UK. I am a NHS worker and I am worried that my leave can get cancelled/ may not get longer leave due to quarantine over there and back in UK.

If I say yes now and can't travel for any reason, does this affect application/ when she arrives in UK Airport?

Will not affect application as the relevance of your answer does not come up till when boarding flight in India or when she gets to immigration control in UK.

There was a case or the other in the past where read a comment on the spouse document or visa states being accompanied by partner bit when the person arrived at PoE alone it caused delay with IO asking why come alone?
Consider your answer very well though presume not much of a problem beyond delay at airport ( which could be distressing for her after long flight ✈️ ) but your being around in airport to pick-up and if any queries be within reach of Immigration Officer can make difference.

If possible, then you don't travel given the unsteady state of airlines to avoid a situation where you both may get stuck outside of UK 8)

Thanks for reply AmazonianX and Seagul.

1. Will she deny entry to UK if I yes now and can’t travel to India?

2. I know it is safe to say no. But, does that impact ECO’s decision when he/ she consider the application

1. Will she deny entry to UK if I yes now and can’t travel to India? Can not tell you outrightly that she will be denied entry. Stated previously Most likely she may be questioned why she came alone when document said spouse will accompany her. Your being available in the airport to pick her up and if required aid her with immigration process (if IO come out to look for you makes it all plain sailing).

2. I know it is safe to say no. But, does that impact ECO’s decision when he/ she consider the application No, it will no sway the decision in any direction.

On average, yes or no response does not determine the outcome of application.
