UKVCAS IDV App - few questions

Dear All,

I was applying tier 2 pbs extenstion for my wife. We got an email from VKVCAS (on 6th Aug) that she need not attend an appointment as her biometrics can be reused. As a next step, UKVCAS will send an invitation to use new IDV app.

But till now I have got no further communication from UKVCAS.

Do you know how long is the wait for the email from UKVCAS?

Do I need to wait for their invitation email or I can simply download the app now and proceed?

I have applied mine Tier-2 (employer switch) on 18th August and waiting for their email.

Why not keep an eye on the frequent updates on the ukcvas website!! We don't know anymore than what is updated online.

Our plan is to email eligible IDV customers inviting them to use the IDV app:

By 7 September 2020 for IDV customers who have registered with UKVI and UKVCAS up to 31 July 2020

By 14 September 2020 for IDV customers who registered with UKVI and UKVCAS in August 2020

Hi All,

Same with me as well.

I also received "Introducing the UKVCAS IDV app" email on 6th August.
I submitted my visa application on 22nd July.

As per the updates on the ukcvas website, applications submitted upto 31st July 2020 should receive IDV app invitation by 7th Sept 2020 but still I didn't received any from UKVCAS.

Though couple of hours left for end of 7th Sept.

Anyone else who submitted the application around end of July 2020 got the invitation?

I equally got the same letter of introduction but went ahead to download the app and I was asked to login to upload my documents, even the face capturing was done and final submission made.

I have submitted the documents via UKIDV app on 4th September but still awaiting the decision letter. Has anyone on this forum who used IDV app got their decision yet? Its 5 weeks but no communication from UKVI yet...so bit worried. Pls help.

One of my friend got decision on 9th October for submission via IDV which was done on 29th August.

Normally need to wait 8 weeks before escalating the case.
