income based JSA affects ILR?

Post by Gears123 » Tue Sep 09, 2008 3:58 pm

I'm a British citizen, my wife is not (she is a on 2 year FLR(M) visa). I'm not currently employed and thinking about applying for income-based JSA. We have a child. She's not working right now but will be doing some part time work soon. If I apply for income-based JSA will this affect my wife's next visa application (ILR)? If not then I assume I only put my name on the JSA claim? Do they need any info about her? Thanks for any help.. :)

Yes just claim JSA in your name. The only thing you can have in joint name is tax credits all other benefits in your name only.It will not effect her status.
