it's not focusing mainly on Indian IT guys. Anyone having an IT credential will be impacted (those that are non-EU area).

Not for Tier1

Post by sharbt_hvr » Tue Sep 09, 2008 5:04 pm

I hope this is for Tier2 (employee sponsored) not for Tier1. Shortage list will be for employers who want to bring overseas
employees in to UK.

Nope.... its for all "IT" and "The IT sector is a well-known Indian-dominated sector".

I think it is for Tier2. The report given by the committee specifies it specially for Tier2. Correct me if I am wrong

Forget about Tier 1/ 2, all IT guys will be affected, as supply is more than demand.

Start learning cooking..

It is clearly for Tier2 visas but infact it can help IT professionals
to apply under Tier1 now since employers will be tough to sponsor
them btw it can be beneficial for IT professionals staying here under tier1 since employer will be having no choice but to recruit them.
Talking abt supply demand ,IT is not just one field it is supplementary field serving all other fields so some fields affected
will also get affect IT

Thats all :D

not necessarily true, you are completely ignoring local/british IT professionals. Supply is out outstripping demand for sure these days.

For general skills there is already too much supply.
Contract rate and salaries are also going down.
