Tier-2 Dependent Visa Extension Time Frame

Post by pkopp » Fri Oct 16, 2020 12:21 pm

Hello All,

I have applied for my family tier-2 VISA extension. It has been more than 4 weeks now and have not heard back anything. We have submitted all the documents through the UKVAS application. Does it have any bearing on the decision making time frames? Any inputs would be appreciated, we have not heard back anything from Home office.

Date of Application submission : 02/09/2020
Date of APP reg : 11/09/2020
Date of Doc and photo submission : 16/09/2020.

There are delays!! Standard processing time is 8 weeks but it can take longer.

Thank you for the reply. Can I contact the home office to know the status of VISA ? Or do I have to wait until 8 weeks to ask for the status.

They won't give you an update. The call centre is also run by a third party agent and they don't have access to your full application.

Thank you for the response. I just received a response from the home office that due to ongoing Pandemic, the VISA process cannot be completed in standard 8 weeks. Does it mean it can now take up to 6 months to get a decision? Has anyone been facing such issues? Would help to know if others have gone through this hassle and received a decision.

It's a generic email. Many get it. There did nothing you can do other than wait.
