Fees clarification

Post by ilrq37 » Mon Oct 19, 2020 11:02 am

I keep seeing references to the application fee for ILR being £2,389

However, using the link above to go to the gov.uk site it appears the fee for "Settlement" - is £1,523

The £2,389 fee is only for "Indefinite leave to enter the UK as the dependant of a member of the armed forces under Appendix Armed Forces to the Immigration Rules."

Can someone please confirm this is correct, ie. for a non armed forces ILR application the fee is £1,523?

Thx

This is the fee for indefinite leave to remain, ie ILR or also known as settlement/PR.
However, using the link above to go to the gov.uk site it appears the fee for "Settlement" - is £1,523
This is the fee for a spouse settlement visa from outside the UK, i.e. a 2.5 year spouse visa. You haven't posted the link where you have read this, but I am sure you are misreading it.
The £2,389 fee is only for "Indefinite leave to enter the UK as the dependant of a member of the armed forces under Appendix Armed Forces to the Immigration Rules."

No. ILS is £2389 for ALL applicants. There is NO cheaper option. The fee of £1523 is for a spouse visa.

https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... -in-the-uk

See sction 6 above for application made in the UK.
ILR is stated to be GBP 2389.

'Settlement' usually refers to the EU Settlement Scheme. Please correct me if I am wrong here. Thanks

Starting here: announces/fees-2018-t228357.html

The latest post points to here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... april-2020

Missed that the first section was from outside the UK - 6th line down is just called "Settlement" - consistent use of terminology would have been helpful

Cleared up now, thanks for your responses. The answer was always going to be "the bigger number"
