can we apply incountry for Tier 2 General from Tier 2 dependent

Post by vasudevan » Sun Oct 11, 2020 5:40 pm

Hi,

Can we apply visa in country for Tier 2 General from Tier 2 dependent due to COVID-19.

We family of four switching from Tier 2 ICT to Tier 2 General (ICT dependent --> Tier 2 General main applicant). Due to COVID situation both in India and in UK is there any possibility to do visa from UK and not from home country?

TIA.

I think that was the case during the peak of pandemic few months ago, better consult a solicitor or ring UKVI to get more clearity as it's not a clear picture out here right now.

Thanks Pinkybalan.

Based on the given gov.uk guidelines, along with the application document do we need to submit any other document to be done in incountry? If so, could you please share the document format or details.

TIA.

If you intend to stay in the UK
If you decide to stay in the UK, you should apply for the necessary leave to remain in the UK. You’ll also be able to submit an application form from within the UK where you would usually need to apply for a visa from your home country.

You’ll need to meet the requirements of the route you’re applying for and pay the UK application fee.

The terms of your leave will remain the same until your application is decided. If you are switching into work or study routes you may be able to commence work or study whilst your application is under consideration.

Prepare a covering letter with the reasons why you cannot apply from India along with the supporting documents. Ex: Travel restrictions(Flight availability to your destination), Travel uncertainty due to rising number of cases across the world, personal constraints(Travelling with Kids,Illness). You can choose whichever is applicable for you and apply.
