Still waiting on application submitted 26 July

Post by Maphosacain » Wed Oct 21, 2020 9:20 pm

Hi all,

I need some help. My wife applied for her Tier 2 dependent visa extension at the end of July 2020. She received an invitation to the IDV app which she submitted on 30 August. She then received an email from the home office asking for more information (my passport & bro card) on the 4th of October which she immediately responded to.

We have not heard anything back since then. Is anyone else in the same scenario? Is there anything we can do?

Likewise but we had an email come through from UKVI to say that they won't be able to make a decision on time due to the current COVID situation.

Keep us posted!

Likewise. We did get a delay email on 15 Oct as well and we've not had any feedback/communication since then.

I did, however, call the UKVI yesterday to get a status update and they've told me to expect a status update response in the next 10 working days.

There is still no update on the decision timeline as I've been told that there is a huge backlog.

Did you apply in country or out of country? Which number did you use to inquire for your application status?

We applied in country, and called on 0300 123 2241 but haven't received any response yet.

No, we do not have such issues. The only reason for delay mentioned was COVID. That's all. What about you?

Agreed but sadly all we can do is wait. I called them in the last week of October and I was told to expect a status update in 10 working days (which is the ends tomorrow) so fingers crossed we get SOMETHING.

I emailed as well but there is no response so far.

Did you apply via idv or biometrics? My visa got approved within 5 days but for my dependants it’s taking longer I don’t know how they decide some applications so quickly and keep the left waiting forever

From what I’ve read around idv app verification applications are taking a bit longer than biometric ones. But at this point I think it makes no difference as my dependents went for biometric as well and it’s been close to 3 weeks now and have heard nothing at all.

Sadly all we can do is wait and keep chasing them for an update.

I'll give them another call tomorrow if I don't hear by then.

Do you provide them UAN to tell your application status? I called On the number you provided but the automated voice message was saying that the representatives have no information about the Application Status.

You can only inquire about the status after the service standard time has passed. There is an option to choose the appropriate department when you call.

Can you please tell me what is meant by server standard time? How many weeks does it denote?
