I entered the UK with an HSMP EC visa just over a week ago.
I arrived at Heathrow airport.
I had lots of documentation with me - original approval letter, all the paperwork I submitted with my application, a detailed 12-month budget, and also a chest X-ray, with a report on what the X-ray showed.
However, none of it was necessary. The immigration official just looked at the EC visa stamp and asked what my field was and whether I already had a job (I said no because I don't.)
Then he stamped my visa with the date, and that was it. He didn't even ask to see the approval letter.
My experience could be the exception rather than the norm, and I wouldn't advise people not to come prepared with all of their HSMP documentation and a budget. But I just thought I'd share what happened to me.
