Wife received an email on the 22nd of September saying this:
It hasn't been 12 weeks yet, but we have a query. A friend of my wife who applied after us (we live in the same town), also got granted the citizenship about a week ago. However, 2 days later they called her for the citizenship cermoney. She made an appointment and she's going to the ceremony soon. She said it was going to be done digitally, over Microsoft Teams (the program).I am pleased to confirm that your application for British citizenship has been
successful. The next step is to attend a British citizenship ceremony.
However, due to Government advice relating to Coronavirus (COVID 19),
ceremonies have been on hold. Although they are resuming, it is taking longer
than usual to make ceremony arrangements, as Local Authorities deal with
large number of ceremonies that have not been able to take place during social
distancing restrictions. As a result, it may take longer than normal for you to
receive your invitation to book and attend your citizenship ceremony.
Your invitation will be sent when your Local Authority are in a position to host
your ceremony. When you receive your invitation, you will then be able to book
your citizenship ceremony, where you will be presented with your certificate of
British citizenship.
I am sorry for any delay this may cause to you however, I would ask for your
patience at this time. From the date of this approval letter, it may take up to 12
weeks for your ceremony invite to be sent. We therefore ask you not to contact
this department regarding your ceremony before this.
We're worried now, have we been totally forgotten about? What should we do? Continuing waiting the 12 weeks?
