Just adding another update for the sake of others.

I called UKVI helpline this AM to get a status update and I was told that the case has been assigned to one of the caseworker on 09 November and we should expect to get a decision this month. Obviously there is no exact date but at least they've made SOME progress after 10 weeks of making the application.

Yes it's the same number and it's for in country applications only.

You can only escalate the case if the service standard time has passed.

Are all the applications being talked about on this thread for pbs dependents? I’ve observed that main applicant applications and student applications are processed much quicker and dependent applications are being delayed. It’s not fair to keep people in limbo. Good to know shoaib you’ve finally been assigned a case worker.

Yes that seems to be the trend at the moment but fingers crossed, this won't last long.

At least we've been told to expect a decision this month so that's a relief!

Good luck with your applications!

We had an email come through this morning from UKVI to acknowledge the follow ups we made.
There is no decision yet but they've confirmed that they're working on the application and will be in touch when a decision has been made.

Yeah seems to be pbs dependent applications which are taking ages which is annoying.

Hi all,

I'm also waiting for a decision, albeit since 8 September. Switching from Tier 2 to be my partner's dependant. Tried escalating and received a response that the application is still in progress (this was after a nudge from my MP, too). Spoke to MP, they were told "there is nothing wrong with the application (=no documents missing/no action required) but there is a massive backlog".
Does anyone know if dependants can also start work whilst their application is in progress? I'm supposed to start on 7 December, and this is looking increasingly grim.

Yes you can you need to provide the employer your details along With the application UAN number. Employer needs to perform ECS. Home office will give them positive verification notice which confirms your right to work for 6 months or till the decision of the application whichever is shorter. Link below. Show it to your employer.

This is incredibly helpful! I'll keep everyone posted in case I hear anything though. I do agree that PBS dependent applications are incredibly slow. My MP said her desk had a "giant pile of requests" for those, so we're not alone (which is good but also bad).

That's great, congrats! I applied on 7 September - still hoping I can get it before the end of the year. Unfortunately, because I'm switching from Tier 2, I can't start work with the new company so that had to be postponed. :(

Congratulations. How did you receive the BRP? Was it Royal Mail signed or something else?
