Is this normal?

Post by THENAB » Thu Nov 12, 2020 10:50 am

Hi all

I received my 'decision on your application' email (which was successful) on 17th Sept. In that email it does that ceremony invites are taking longer than usual because of Covid 19 but I haven't had any correspondence since then from Home Office and it's been almost 2 months. Is this normal or should I be worried and contact the council or HomeOffice to find out more? Thank you!

Probably the new normal in a pandemic.

Thank you for that link. So it seems like no one knows what's going on :) To be fair these are uncertain times though! Also could you just confirm that my understanding that I cannot book the ceremony with the council until I have another email from the Home Office which is the 'invite' email?

Without the invite, the council may not have received your certificate?

sorry but is that a question for me? I don't understand, does the home office send out invite emails (after the successful decision emails) to both council and applicant and then sends out the certificate to the council? Thank you once again for being so helpful

Unsure of timings between successful email notice, printing out certificates, sending certificates, and sending invites. Probably safer to wait until the invite.
