Dependent tier 2 general to tier 2 general main

Post by Aarunkumar » Wed Nov 18, 2020 8:33 pm

Hi,
Can you please help with the query
Iam currently on ICT tier 2 - Main applicant Visa. My wife was in ICT tier 2 dependent. She got a sponsor from a company and got Tier 2 general Visa... I’m planning to switch to dependent tier 2 general. Once I have switched to tier 2 general dependent, if a company is ready to sponsor me a tier 2 general main visa -
1. do I have to go through the 12 months cooling off period ?
2. Do I have to go to India - origin country to submit the visa application ?

1. Yes, 12 months cool-off from the point where your Tier 2 ICT leave ended. Also if you move from Tier 2 dependent to Tier 2 General main applicant, your ILR clock on a 5 year route resets to 0
2. Yes. You will also need to monitor the Coronavirus advise for any exceptions

Also note that cool-off maybe removed for such switches from Jan 2021. Keep an eye on the new PBS route
