Earliest day to submit SET M application

Post by HSMPnonJRtoT1 » Sun Nov 08, 2020 8:47 am

Hi,

My wife was granted entry clearance visa for spouse of settled person on 22/12/2015 and she entered the UK on the date 23/12/2015.

I understood the date of application is the date when I submit the online application and paid the fees. Is she eligible to submit her SET M application on 24/11/2020 (28 days before 22/12/2015) or 25/11/2020 (28 days before 23/12/2015)?

If she is able to apply on 24/11/2020, does she need to state in her application that in the date 24/11/2015 she was absent from the UK?

She can apply when she completes 60 months minus 28 days from the date she entered UK.

Cohabitation documents are needed for the last 2 years from the date of application. You need 3/4 different sources (ideally in joint names, otherwise top it up with solo names but same address) spread evenly during last 2 years i.e. every 3-4 months.

Please do not create a new topic for each question. Keep all your questions in the same thread.

I have some additional questions please.

1. Does my wife need to provide a full list of absences during the last 5 years or the time period more than 2 weeks required in the online application is sufficient?

2. At this point, is it still suggested to attend UKVCAS appointment or use the app?

The question asks to list more than 2 weeks absences only
2. At this point, is it still suggested to attend UKVCAS appointment or use the app?
IDV is the past except for T4. You must book an appointment now

Thanks, Cullinan as always.
In my wife's previous FLR(M) applications she always provide a separate excel sheet for all her absenses. I guess it is not necessary anymore? I have a question however, In this case, how does UKVA count total amount of absenses for each year, for example, not exceeding 180 days?

Re: questions related to my wife's IRL (SET M) application

Post by HSMPnonJRtoT1 » Thu Nov 26, 2020 10:11 am

Finally, my wife's application is submitted today and the appointment is booked. We are at the stage of uploading documents and there are additional questions below

1. While We booked appointment and we also added the "Document checking" service. It says we need to upload all our document 48 hours before the appointment. Does it mean that if all document uploaded today/tomorrow, we can still make changes of those documents as long as it is 48 hours before the appointment without affecting the application, ie adding the document missed, moving documents from one category to another or removing wrong documents?

2. How do all applicants deal with oversized files? For example, in our case, the full passport copy scan with 300DPI is over 6MB which is the maximum size, do you suggest to lower the scan resolution to 150DPI? Is 150DPI a good resolution the application? Or I better split the big sized document into small chunks less than 6MB?

3. Can I scan all payslips in one file or better in separate files and one for each month? The same question for bank statement.

4. ukvcas document upload category
It is not very clear to us what UKVCAS and UKVI are expecting us to categorise our documents.

Yes

Use PDF compression tools or make two files

3. Can I scan all payslips in one file or better in separate files and one for each month? The same question for bank statement.
Better to keep files to a minimum. The more organised the better. So make 1 PDF file for all payslips and name the file accordingly

Thank you!

Is it no longer a requirement to provide passport sized photos for the applicant and partner with signature at the back for the ILR application by uploading them to UKVCAS site or bringing them to the appointment?

It is no longer required since the same will be taken during biometrics enrollment.

Thank you seagul!

Further questions please. In UKVCAS site, when we go to "Upload your documents" page, we now have the option to "Submit your uploaded documents to UKVI"

1. Does UKVI will work on the application as soon as the submission or they will only work on the application after the appointment?
2. Do we need to "Submit your uploaded documents to UKVI" before the appointment?
3. We have ordered the "document checking" from UKVCAS service, is the checking taking place before or after "Submit your uploaded documents to UKVI"

1. In your case it will be after appointment.
2. Yes, but see point 3.
3. Because you opted for document checking service, your documents will not be submitted in advance even if you click the submit documents button. UKVCAS folks will check the documents at your appointment. This would haven been mentioned when you opted for document checking service (check your email or UKVCAS portal).
My advice is based on personal research/experience, so pls check relevant UKVI sources.

This might be a final question. I know I can scan all payslips in one PDF file. Can I keep all correspondence letters to one PDF file also?

Thank you all for your help!

In order to have the possibility that UKVI can start processing the applications before my wife's UKVCAS appointment with the our hope to get decision of my wife's ILR earlier, We have made the decision to cancel the previous appointment with Document checking and booked a new appointment without it so the documents can reach UKVI directly after submission. We managed to book the appointment with the same date and time (not sure if the slot is what we have just cancelled as there were many slots yesterday but only this one left today). We will be triple check our documents and will submit them tomorrow. Will create a timeline four our application in the forum. Fingers crossed!

Also note, you can self-submit once BUT you can always upload more documents (if need be) later on (before appointment) also and submit those at the appointment itself. Just in case any documents are missed or you want to add more.

Document Checking Service is a waste anyways. No use.

uk super priority visa

Post by HSMPnonJRtoT1 » Thu Jan 28, 2021 9:12 pm

Hi,

My wife has submitted her SET (M) application and also attended the biometric appointment. She is now waiting for the decision...

I only noticed today that uk super priority service is available again. Is there any chance my wife can take advantage of that to get faster decision? her current visa has expired on 20 Jan this month.

Only for certain visa categories and SET M isn't on the list as eligible.

Thank you for your swift response :)

I forgot to mention that my wife is working, in this case, is her set M application eligible for priority service?

from the link below, it states under the eligible visas list

"Applying to settle as the dependent child or partner if you work, establish a business or invest in the UK"
